Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actor as well as a director and musician. She has directed numerous episodes of TV and film, including Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She was also the Co-EP/Producing director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently attached to two pilots in the process of development. Milena was among eight filmmakers who were selected by AFI's highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable was her short film as well as a television show proof of concept, was shown at SXSW. It also received Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) has been shown across the nation and has won the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest as well as the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has appeared on more than 100 TV episodes acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She also starred in the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) that led to her role as the very first and only female detective in the Emmy-winning show Law & Order (1990). She has appeared or recurred on numerous other showslike K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and also on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has appeared in numerous films which include Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and starring opposite Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of high school prior to completing her double major in vocal performance and premed, with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma, with a valedictorian award at the end of the course. In the following years she took advantage of her classical ballet training to make an appearance on Broadway in the production by Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes of 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
