Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides straightforward and simple techniques for home cooks. The chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has studied Italy's culinary tradition and its culture as well as the landscape. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most fun time of my life. I just couldn't get enough enjoyment from the experience. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy she developed an appreciation for and understanding of Italian cuisine. This had an enormous effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children who are facing difficulties. She also serves as a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she is an advocate for children with diabetes and awareness. She speaks about her cooking passion and shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she travels throughout the US in both her roles as mentors and speakers. Anne has always been grateful she could share the passion of her life, sharing her cooking skills with other people.
